XY&Z was Xcellent!
XY&Z - Write Around Portland's Word Art Extravaganza and 10th anniversary celebration on October 3rd at Design Within Reach - was a huge success!
The games were great. This year saw stiffer competition at the Speed Scrabble table, but luckily no one was hurt.
The folks over at Word Salad almost ran out of room on the wall and, as always, the typewriters were almost too hot to touch by the end of the evening.
The food, drinks, music and venue were fabulous. The more than 180 guests and volunteers were really, really fabulous.
The generosity displayed was inspiring. All told we raised more than $31,000—well over our goal of $20,000.
Thanks to everyone, including our sponsors, journal and broadside artists, who made this our best event yet.
We can hardly wait for next year’s XY&Z!
