Melissa Duclos (she/her), author of the LGBTQ novel Besotted, has been a Write Around Portland volunteer since 2012. She has over a decade of facilitating writing circles and teaching creative and academic writing to middle school, high school and college students, including at Columbia University, Clackamas Community College, Portland Community College, George Middle School, and Ron Russell Middle School, and to adults in a range of social service settings. A member of the LGBTQ community, Melissa is the founder of the #PSWeLoveYou campaign, a grassroots marketing effort to raise public awareness of the positive impact of gender affirming care and the stepmother of a transgender teen.
