Donations mean high-quality training for workshop facilitators
We’re celebrating these friendly (and COVID-safe!) faces who accomplished a BIG milestone with us. They are newly minted volunteer Write Around facilitators, who completed 27 hours of training last month!
Our facilitators quite literally make Write Around Portland magic happen! They commit to facilitating an 8-10 week workshop for a nonprofit agency partner, following our curriculum.
But each facilitator brings their own special spin to the creative writing workshop. They select prompts to get folks writing, find poems or stories for reading and discussion, and even keep in-touch with participants between sessions through Write Around postcards.
All the while, facilitators are supported by Write Around staff members in weekly phone calls, as well as kickoff, midway, and closing meetings.
We are so grateful for our amazing facilitators, who bring energy, enthusiasm, and uniqueness to our cherished model.
