Ed Kline has been volunteering with Write Around Portland since 2009, where he’s had the good fortune to write with young men experiencing incarceration at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility, young women leaving the foster care system, and folks recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, among many other cohorts of writers. He spends his days teaching high school English, helping teenagers use reading and writing to deepen their understanding of the world and themselves.
