Amelie Welden wrote Girls Who Rocked the World shortly after college, and writing has been a
part of her personal and professional life in various forms ever since—from marketing
communications and journalism, to teaching and public policy. During a mid-career break, she
satisfied her creative writing itch by earning an MFA in fiction. Amelie first facilitated workshops
with Write Around Portland in 2006, and has loved continuing to volunteer with Write Around
whenever living in the Portland area.
